A new game has been introduced on Facebook which is in the popular game series of Sims. This game is growing at a rapid pace. I was impressed that in a very short span of time, the game has become very popular among Facebook users. I first tried it when I had heard so much about it that I just had to try it myself. I wondered why I should not give the game a try and find out whether it is actually easy and fun to play or not. I started playing the game Sims Social and found that it is easy to play. But soon I found that I didn’t know how to earn more Simoleons. I was at a loss. There are several methods through which you need to earn Sim cash and benefit from all kinds of talents, goodies, new levels, etc.

All this made me curious to learn how to progress in the game. And I started looking for guides for the game available on the internet by various authors. But no guide is useful enough to understand the game’s concepts, tips and tricks. Then, somehow I came to know about the eBook of Sims Social Game authored by Tony Sanders. How I found love on Sims Social

When I first went to Sims Social, it was simply because my Facebook buddy invited me to be a neighbor. I spent close to a week trying to figure out what to do and was going to give up when I chanced upon this super guide by someone called Tony Sanders.
Quite an awesome guide as I was up and running my Sim personality within a day. Of course, I couldn't go through the entire guide all at once.
But whatever I got out of it within an hour had me playing and having fun in no time.

Hang on, the story is not about the guide. But, like they say, when the time is right, synchronicity happens! I was having fun attending a party at a Sim friend's house when a stranger asked me if I could help them figure out how to play Sim.
That person was a girl. I immediately suggested the guide ebook I was reading and how it had made my Sim experience go to the next level in a single day. I forgot about the event and Sim life went on as usual until a few days later, a Sim guy walked up to me and said, 'Thanks'.
My first reaction was 'For what????' I was kinda puzzled.

We got talking and then he told me that he had befriended me at a friend's party – as a girl! Whoa! He was that same girl Sim I had recommended the guide to. Soon we were comparing notes and we hit off so well that we decided to meet in real life. I was not sure if I would like him. He agreed to travel 500 miles to give it a chance. We met, we talked and we went back to Sim Social – as soul mates +.

Do you want to build a room completely FREE? Well here is a little tip that will allow you to, the rooms can be any size and do not have to be 4x4. Please note that you will have to keep your walls down if using this tip as the room in front will show as an exterior wall and not allow you to see your items inside your 5th room. Also Mushrooms, Ferns and Grass can appear through the floor tiles of your 5th room using this method. However if your happy with these little niggles...... Happy Building!

The Sims Social Guide : Where is the telescope?!

Every Sims Social player has asked this question; Where is the telescope?! Players would expect to see it under Misc for example, but for some reason, the Sims Social producers decided to place the telescope with the living room items.

To find the telescope:

• Click on Build
• Choose Shop
• Choose Living
• Use the right arrow to go through item pages until you find it.
• Voila! You just found the lost telescope.

The Sims Social Walkthrough [Guide]

It is just right that the best selling game of all time should be on Facebook. I am talking about The Sims, which has, understandably given its popularity, the most number of sequels for a city-building simulation video game. This latest social networking addition to the previous series will still allow users to create their unique characters. Facebook users can use their characters to interact with friends. This guide will walk you through the basics of the game:

 Styling your Sim

You will be happy to know that at the start of the game, you have the freedom to select your Sim’s personality, looks, hairstyle, and clothing. You will then be brought to the actual game after this modification. Altering your Sim in the future is your prerogative, but it will cost you some simoleons and you can not alter your gender.
Your personality can only be changed using simcash and by tapping on the traits button. Tap on the clothes button to change its appearance. Afterwards, the Create-A-Sim page will appear where you buy new hairstyles in different colors and outfits. These alterations can be purchased with simcash or simoleons.

 Earning Simoleons and Leveling Up

In this Sims Social guide, we will immediately show you a numbers of ways to earn Simoleons, the main currency in the game. Your first option in earning the currency is through completion of quests. Give time to improve your skill level. A few Simoleon bucks can be earned by leveling up your skills. Remember to hone your skills while on inspired mode to earn extra currencies.
Stretching your muscles will also fill your pockets with Simoleons by completing tasks in your neighbors’ houses. Other productive tasks are repairing broken equipment and gardening. Selling the items from your house for Simoleons is also allowable. All of these activities will enable you to accumulate experience needed for leveling up. In this stage, you can unlock new features, interactions, and items.

 Traits in the Sims

You can further enhance your Sim by purchasing traits. Traits will also give you the ability to unlock interactions and new features. Its five different upgrade levels will unlock something new. Use life points in purchasing traits. These points are earned by learning additional skills, increasing relationship levels, and completing quests.
You are only allowed to purchase a single trait at the start but additional trait slots are unlockable as you level up. Traits vary in price according to their type which ranges from 50 to 250 for the first level and get more expensive for higher levels.

 The Needs of your Sims

The bottom toolbar in the center indicates your Sim’s needs. You have to make sure that all indicators are green by making your Sim happy and willing to work and interact. Their basic needs are hygiene, energy, hunger, fun, social, and bladder. You have to make sure that these needs are always on the green and do not drop from yellow to red. Let’s say, replenish energy by buying a bed which will fulfill the need. You will be on inspired mode if everything is green and that means earning simoleons.

Socializing

In this community, you are not alone. You need to interact and socialize with your friends and neighbors. The different relationships you can enter are romance, friends, or rivals. Each provides different interactions and tasks like comforting each other and watering plants. For rivals, they can insult each other, mess with home appliances, or play prank at each other. You will also level up in relationships and inform your friends about your new level for their approval.

 How to get the best jobs in the Sims

Your profession in the game will be the skills that you will master. You can choose to be an artist, chef, musician, or a writer. To increase your competence in these skills, there are items that are associated with them. There is a computer for the writer, a microwave for the chef, and a guitar if you want to be a composer. Select tasks by tapping on the skill items. You can also choose other tasks for the same items. The skill window will show you your progression.
To progress, you have to unlock the next skill level by leveling up. The requirement is various items you need to collect by doing certain activities. Reaching level 11 signals for an upgrade in your skill equipment and it means that if you have mastered the guitar, aim for a higher level by purchasing an electric keyboard from the shop. There are more simoleons to earn in higher levels.

 Furnishing your Sims Home

Customize your home by buying items from the shop. The shop has various icons as categories for the items you will need. The categories can be bathroom, living room, bedroom, electronics, skill, etc. Click for the item you like to purchase and pay through simcash, social points, or simoleons. As you place these items in your home, you can collect house value points. You have the option to move, rotate, or sell the items in your home by clicking on it. You also have storage of the items you get as gifts through completion of tasks. Click on the item if you want to place it in your house.

 How to use the Build Mode in the Sims Social

The Build tab is essential for you to create more space to place your items and it can be accessed through the shop button. Your house value level will determine the size of the room you can purchase. Select the size, place it on the screen, and then connect the room to your home. Hire workers or invite friends to help you build the room. By using the Build tab, purchase doors and windows to access the room. Also purchase wallpaper and flooring for decorations. The Crafting button is also a special feature you can use to complete collections and craft potions that will help your Sim. You can craft items and store them in your backpack together with the energy bonuses.

The Sims Social - Ultimate Beginner Guide

The Sims Social is a life simulation Facebook game developed by Playfish and Electronic Arts, which is newest incarnation of the wildly popular The Sims series. In the game you will be responsible for keeping your sim happy, maintaining their relationships, and building and decorating their home. This guide will help you familiarize yourself with the world and get started in the game.

Quick Start Guide

Navigating the Screen

• The top toolbar is where you will find your current balance for simoleons, simcash, social points, and energy. You will also find your current experience balance and level. On the far right you will find the options button and immediately below that are additional options.
• On the left side of the screen you will find your current quests. Clicking on any of the images will open up the quest details.

• The bottom toolbar contains all the pertinent game information. On the left of the toolbar you will find your traits and relationship status. In the center of the toolbar are your needs. On the right side is the clothes button (where you can customize your sim), the shop button, and the crafting button.

• At the very bottom of the screen you have your house value and friends bar.

Game Terminology

• Simoleons: The main currency of The Sims Social.
• Simcash: Simcash is used to purchase premium items, purchase quest items, purchase workers and speed up in game events. Simcash can only be purchased using Facebook credits.
• Social points: Social points are earned by interacting with other sims. They can be used to purchase certain items in the game.
• Energy: Energy is used when you complete tasks and when you interact with other sims. You have a finite amount of energy so use it wisely. Energy does regenerate over time at a rate of one point every five minutes.
• Experience: Experience is gained by completing tasks and performinh other activities. When you gain enough experience you will level up. Leveling up will unlock new items in the shop as well as new activities, interactions, and so on.
• Traits: Traits can be purchased to make your sim more unique. There are numerous traits to choose from and they can all be upgraded. Traits add additional interactions and surprises to the game. Traits are purchased using life points.
• Life points: Life points are used to purchase traits. Life points can be earned by leveling up relationships, earning skill levels, completing quests, and other activities.
• House value: The current value of your home. You can increase the value by building expansions as well as purchasing furniture and décor items.
• Needs: These are the basic needs your sim must fulfill. They include hygiene, hunger, fun, social, bladder, and energy. If your sims needs fall too low they will be unwilling to perform tasks until their needs are met.
• Plumbob: This is the green diamond above your sims head. The color of the plumbob tells you the mood of your sim. If it is green your sim is in a good mood. The closer it gets to red the worse mood your sim is in and the more needs that need to be met.

Earning Simoleons

There are several ways to earn simoleons in The Sims Social:

• You can earn simoleons by completing quests.
• You can earn quite a bit of cash by working at leveling up your skills. The higher your skill level, the more simoleons you will earn.
• If you work on your skills while in inspired mode you will earn additional bonus simoleons.
• You can also earn simoleons by performing tasks like gardening, fixing broken equipment, and by visiting your neighbors and performing tasks at their homes.
• You can also purchase simoleons using simcash.
• If you are really strapped for cash, you can sell items in your house. They will earn you a small percentage of the amount you spent on the item.

Leveling Up

As you perform tasks, complete quests, and make friends (or enemies) you will accrue experience. Once you’ve earned enough experience you will level up. Leveling up will unlock new items in the shop as well as new features and interactions.

Customizing Your Sim


When you first begin the game you will get to choose your sims gender, appearance, clothing, hairstyle and personality. After you have done so, you will be taken to the game proper. If you wish to change your sim after that, you can (with the exception of gender) but it will cost you simoleons or possibly simcash.

• To change your personality you will need to click on the traits button in the bottom left of the screen. You can only change your personality using simcash.
• To change the appearance of your sim click on the clothes button on the bottom right of the screen.
• This will bring up the Create-A-Sim page. Here you can purchase new hairstyles, hair colors, and outfits.
• You will need to purchase these changes using either simoleons or simcash.

Traits

• Traits allow you to further customize your sims as well as unlock new features and interactions. The traits that can be purchased at this time are as follows: Great Kisser, Insane, Ninja, Ogre, Slob, Steel Bladder, Neat, Super Mechanic, and Night Owl.
• You can purchase traits using life points, which are earned by completing quests, learning new skills, and increasing relationship levels.
• Each trait has five different upgrade levels. Each level unlocks something new. For example, level two of the Insane trait allows you talk to plants for socialization.
• At the beginning of the game you will only be able to purchase one trait. As you level up you will be able to unlock addition trait slots. You will need life points to unlock the new slots.
• Traits have different costs depending on what the trait is. First level traits can range in cost from 50 life points to 150 life points. They get progressively more expensive from there.

Skills

• There are numerous skills you can master in The Sims Social. Skills act as your profession, as there aren’t currently jobs in the game. You can be a writer, a musician, a chef, and/or an artist at this time.
• Each skill has an associated item for increasing that skill.
  • To learn to write you will need a computer
  • To learn to paint you will need an easel
  • To learn to cook you will need a microwave
  • To learn to compose music you will need a guitar
• Click on the skill items and select the related task (computer – write, easel – paint, etc.). Most items have other tasks that can be preformed as well, but only one will increase your skill level.
• This will open the skill window. It will show you how far you’ve progressed on the skill level, and how many more times you need to perform the skill to level it up. Click on the skill to add it to your action queue.
• Once you have leveled a skill up, you will need to unlock the next skill level to progress. This requires items that you will collect by performing various activities. Hover over the required item to see what activity you can get the item from.
• Once you have reached level 11 in a skill it will be time to upgrade your skill equipment. For example, if you max out your skills on the guitar you will need to purchase an electric keyboard to go any further. All skill items can be found in the shop.
• The higher you skill level is the more simoleons you will earn.

Fulfilling Your Needs


This section will go into detail about keeping your sims’ needs in the green. If a sims’ needs fall too low, they will not be willing to perform tasks or interact with other sims. A grumpy sim is not a successful sim, so make sure you are keeping them happy.

• You can view your sims needs in the bottom toolbar in the center.
• Your sims needs are social, fun, hunger, hygiene, bladder, and energy.
• To fulfill your sims needs you will need to have purchased objects and furniture that will fulfill the need, such as a bed to replenish energy.
• You can tell what needs must be addressed by the color of the icon. If it is green your sim is doing well. However, as a need bottoms out it goes from green to yellow to orange and then to red.
• If a need is red, it must be fixed before your sim will be willing to cooperate with any other tasks.
• To fill a need you can either click on the object and select the appropriate action (for example, click on the bed and select sleep) or you can click on the need itself and your sim will choose an item in the house to fulfill the need.
• To fulfill the social need you will lneed to leave the lot and visit a neighbor. You can also make a phone call if you own a phone.
• If you get all your sims’ needs to green, you will enter inspired mode. In this mode, you will earn extra simoleons when you complete tasks.

Socializing and Relationships


The more neighbors you have, the more fun you will have in the game. You will be building relationships with each of your friends and there are many options and interactions to choose from. This section will only scrape the surface of the various relationship options in the game, but discovering all the different interactions is part of the fun!

• You can pursue three different relationships with your neighbors. You can become friends, rivals, or enter into a romance. There are various relationship levels to be unlocked, going from acquaintances to friends to BFFs or friendly rivals.
• Each relationship path gives you different social interactions, as well as different tasks you can perform at your friends’ homes.
• Friends can help each other out by watering plants, comforting one another, complimenting each other, and other positive interactions.
• Rivals can be rude to on another by insulting each other, playing pranks, messing with household appliances, and other negative interactions.
• Once you reach a new relationship level you will need to send a message to your friend to receive their approval for the new level.
• If they accept the new relationship you will gain life points as well as new social interactions.
• Interacting with friends will cost you energy. Luckily, you receive five bonus energy points each day when you visit a friend.
• Once you have used those bonus points up you can still interact with your friends, but you will be drawing energy from your own energy pool.
• You can send and receive gifts as well. To send a gift select the “Send Gift” tab above the top toolbar or click on the gift icon on the right hand side of the screen. Select the gift you wish to send and then select the friends you wish to send it to.
• Socializing with other sims will earn you social points. Social points can be used to purchase items in the shop.

Customizing Your Home


The Shop:The shop is where you will buy your furniture, décor items, expand your home, and customize it in numerous ways.

• There are numerous items that you can purchase for your home. Once you have accessed the shop you will see a list of icons on the left. These are the shop categories and they are listed by room and/or type of item. The categories are as follows: living, bathroom, bedroom, decoration, kitchen, outdoor, skill, misc, and electronics.
• Click on the category for the type of item you wish to purchase.
• Items will either cost simoleons, simcash, or social points.
• Certain items, like double beds and couches, will have a hammer icon in the right corner. This means that this item requires some assembly. To assemble the item you will need certain items that can only be gained by performing tasks. Hover over the needed item to learn which tasks will provide the item. Sometimes you may need to ask your friends for the item.
• To purchase an item, click on it. If you change your mind you can undo the action before you place it on the screen.
• Once you have selected the item you wish to purchase it’s time to place it in your home. Once you have placed it, be sure to collect your house value points.
• If you want to change an items location or the direction it is facing, simply click on the item and select either move or rotate.
• If you wish to sell an item, click on it and select sell.
• If you wish to remove an object, but do not wish to sell it, you can click on it and select move. If you go to the bottom of the screen and click, you can add the item to your storage.

Storage:

• To access your storage, click on the shop button and then select the storage tab.
• Storage is where you will find items that you’ve received from completing tasks or as gifts.
• To remove an item from storage just click on it and then place it where you want it to go.

Build Mode:

• At some point your sim is going to need more space to store all their stuff. To build additional rooms, click on the shop button and then select the build tab.
• The size of the rooms you can purchase will depend on your current house value level.
• Select the room size you wish to purchase and then place it on the screen, connecting it to your house.
• You may need to leave the build screen and remove some plants in your yard to make room for your new addition.
• Once you’ve placed the new room, you will need to hire some friends to help you build the new room. You can either send a message to your friends requesting their assistance, or you can use simcash to hire workers.
• Once you have enough help, you can click on the room and complete it.
• Once completed you will want to make sure that you can access the new room. Under the build tab you can purchase doors and windows for your home.
• Now it’s time to decorate. Under the build tab you can purchase different flooring and wallpaper.

Crafting

• In addition to building items and unlocking skills, you can use items found by performing tasks to craft special potions and complete collections.
• You can craft numerous potions that can provide benefits to your sim. For example a fun potion will instantly max out your fun level, or a bad mood potion will instantly tank all your sims needs (helpful for when you are trying to find certain items).
• To see what items can be crafted, and what ingredients you still need, click on the crafting button on the bottom right of the screen.
• Hover over the ingredients you need to find out what task(s) you need to perform to find them. They will not appear each time you perform the task so you may have to repeat the same task several times.
• Once you have all the required items, you can click on the crafting button and craft the item.

• Your crafted items are stored in your backpack which can be found by clicking on the crafting button and selecting your backpack.
• To use a crafted item, click the crafting button and select your backpack. Then click use on the item you wish to use.
• Energy bonuses are also stored in your backpack.

The Sims Social Red Square Quest Problem

Some people are reporting a rather strange problem with The Sims Social: a red square appears where the mission should be but it can't be clicked and therefore nobody knows what to do in order to complete that mission - if it is a mission at all!

After doing some research I found out that indeed the Sims Social red square that appears to the left side of the screen is a quest that must be completed but doesn't show properly. However, it does record your progress and if you complete the requirements you can carry on.

So here is what to do to complete the "Red Square" mission:

- Trim a neighbor's Bush/plant/flower
- Collect 5 Goodwill

After doing this, you will get the message that you have completed the mission and the red square will be gone.

Hello, friends! I'm back with a short and quick update: many people are sending me e-mail asking where to find the Telescope in The Sims Social. This is required to complete a mission and progress and nobody seems to find it.

So I am here to tell you how to get the Telescope in The Sims Social!

Simply click the Shop button then the "Living" area and click the right icon five times. You should see the telescope there, as seen in the image below:

Tons of New Items Released Today in The Sims Social

Wooow! The Sims Social just got today the first content update and let me tell you one thing: it's HUGE! Now you will have tons of items to use in order to decorate your homes. Specifically, you will be able to get your own Pink Bathroom which looks awfully cute:

Also, you can get a very classy looking Kitchen, amongst other things. Here is the suggestion of the developers:

From what I can see, there are multiple color themes for our Bathrooms, Kitchens and even a new Bedroom theme. Here are the colors and themes:

• Pink Bathroom Set
• Black Bathroom Set
• Red Bedroom Set
• Tan Kitchen Set
• Ice Kitchen Set

They all look nice and of course, nothing can be complete without a new set of decorations, and that's exactly what Electronic Arts delivers: a brand new set of decorations for our homes in The Sims Social!

The best news is that many of these new items are available for regular coins, so I guess that it's safe to say that this weekend we'll be busy decorating, right?

Guide to Personality Types in The Sims Social

In The Sims Social, there are 7 different types of personalities you can choose from and I am sure you're curious to find out more about them. So read on this guide to personalities in The Sims Social!

First of all, it's worth mentioning that Personality Types don't influence that much what happens in the game and usually they're limited to some specific interaction types but that's it. Since there are no jobs in The Sims Social (yet), these don't pay too much of an importance right now, so choose as your heart tells you to!

Here are the Personality Types in The Sims Social and some details about them:

• Socialite: These Sims Love to be the center of attention! They can Toast with friends and are very fun to be around with! 
• Rocker: Masters of the guitar and great singers - music is a REALLY fun thing for them and they can perform Air Guitar with friends! 
• Romantic: Natural charmers. Falling in love has never been easier! 
• Introvert: Not the most social folks around, they can have the ability to Introspect 
• Tycoon: They care a lot about money. However, no extra detail on this type of personality is available at the moment. 
• Geek: You own your personal laser sword and can even put on laser fights with friends. Better than WooHooing for some! 
• Athelte: These Sims love sports and life's a challenge for them. However, we don't know exactly what specific interactions they have. 
• Creative: They love to paint and that makes them happy. They're creative. They always see the bright side of life. 
• Villain: If you want to be the bad guy (or girl), this is the personality type for you. They somehow find it funny to do bad things and are pretty good at it!

Can I change my personality type in The Sims Social?
Yes, you can change your personality type at any moment, but it costs Sim Cash to do it. Right now, the price is 50 SimCash to change your personality type in the game.
